“You’ll never be more happy than you are grateful”—-Elder Sabin. This week we are grateful that we had the opportunity to prepare and listen to General Conference. That was indeed the highlight! On Saturday morning, we met as a Barbados Zone and had brunch and watched the first session. We love these missionaries we serve. They are truly sons and daughters of God and are valiantly serving their Heavenly Father.

Break to regroup
Doug felt Elder Bednar was speaking to him right out of the gate and found peace and instruction in his words to "continue in the path of our duty." I had several talks that spoke to me and provided some much needed comfort and guidance to ponder. Here are a few of my ponderings: - Decisions of one can impact generations --Elder Godoy
- Each of us can make a difference in the life of someone --Elder Ardern
- Mortal life is a nano-second of eternal life, but it is a very important second---Pres. Nelson
- The gospel is a plan to BECOME --- Pres. Oakes
- Do I have the courage to ask? --- Elder Ballard
- It's called the Covenant Path and not the path of requirement. Am I walking with Him on that path? ---Sister Freeman
- Be consistent in my efforts ----Elder Newman
- Covenants are NOT transactional. Covenants are and should be Transformational --Elder Koch
- Beware of Golden Calves
While watching Sunday session of conference, we got a text from our girls.......

This picture.....them being together, those smiles, and just the overwhelming feeling of love for those babies. I hope that Elder Rasband's promise that they will be blessed for our service does ring true. They are precious to us and we indeed know that they are sons and daughters of God, as well as ours. What a blessing the fullness of the gospel is and the eternal nature of families! We definitely want to be with them forever!
We had a great evening out this week with the Kirkhams on “the gap”. They had found a great Mexican restaurant with amazing fajitas, so of course we must try! Sometimes it is the tiniest of things that you miss when you didn't even appreciate them when you had them. We sure have enjoyed getting to know the Kirkhams.
After dinner, we walked down the gap onto Dover beach to observe the beautiful harvest moon. Soaking the scenery in because we truly want to live a life of gratitude. The people, the island, the culture are truly beautiful! It’s the simple things that really matter most.

Harvest Moon over Dover
Barbados weekly trivia: Greetings are the norm but depend on the time of day. Instead of hello/good-bye, salutations should be: - early morning - 10 am: Good Morning
- 10 am - 2 pm: Good Afternoon
- 2 pm - 6 pm: Good Evening
- 6 pm - on: Good Night
We are still working on our Yes please and No please as well.
This week was not exceptional or story filled, but it was a good week that ended with the spiritual feast of General Conference. We are trying our best to BEcome the best senior missionaries for the BBM. As the sun sets on this week and y'all are enjoying your wonderful Fall weather, remember life is better with sandy toes!
