Happy New Year (they still say that all month here) to you my friends! We hope that you have started off the year with all the wonderful things you stand in need of. Our year is hopping already. Can hardly believe that we hit our 6 month mark and are sliding right into the year.

Arrival of Elder Espinal, Sister Guzman, & Elder Madsen)
We sent Syd off to start her new semester and jumped right into transfer week. This transfer we sent 2 home and received 10 one week and 3 the next week and one couple (The Ellis'--- Greg & Jeni are finally here to be our MLS couple on St. Vincent). Doug & I got to do a lot of the airport runs this time because the office staff were going in all sorts of directions this week. They are pretty fun and you get one on one time with missionaries that you may not see for awhile.

The Ellis' 2.0 are heading to St. Vincy
We participated in two service projects. The last food hamper project with the Kirkhams' before they complete their mission was last Friday. The young missionaries are so great at jumping in to help. They made over 200 bags of essential supplies for the hospital again. The second project was a donation of diapers for the local Catholic charity who serves local mothers in need.

We love working with our young missionaries. Weekly we attend District Council at their request to help support them in their efforts and area. We just got Sisters back into our district, so we are helping with their language study as we have a new missionary from the Dominican and one from the Philippines. Like Elder Bednar counseled, when you pray for what He needs you to do, you are blessed beyond measure and your prayers will never be the same because it changes you. There is definitely a feeling of joy when that promise is realized.

This past week Doug had to teach Elders Quorum and we discussed President Nelson's talk "Think Celestial." Sometimes it is hard to imagine what a celestial world would look and feel like. All we know is this earthly life, but we know that this is definitely not the world we want to end up in. Taking a moment to really visualize what it would be like to live in a celestial realm does change our perspective. I think it actually changes us too. I know being on a mission and "thinking celestial" has changed and continues to change Doug & I. Though it isn't all beaches and sunsets all the time, it is wonderful and we find peace and joy in serving these young missionaries, our mission leaders, and our members.
